One of the biggest challenges in this project was getting a massive amount of content into a small print area, testing my organization and critical eye for spatial relationships. Actually printed as two bilingual catalogs, a single-plate-change production technique was implemented to further complicate matters. Artwork and English copy ran on the typical CMYK plates, with Spanish copy setup as a fifth, black plate which was swapped out for the French plate during the production run. The result was significant cost savings, but made for some tricky layout situations.
